Crespi, Giovanni
Crespi, Giovanni (or Giuseppe) Maria (called il Spagnuolo, from the finery of his dress), a Bolognese painter, was born in 1665, and studied under Canuti and Cignani. He executed a number of works for the churches of Bologna, among which are The Last Supper; The Annunciation; The Temptation of St. Anthony; St. John Preaching; and The Crucifixion. He died in 1747.
