Crespi, Daniele
Crespi, Daniele a Milanese historical and portrait painter, was born in 1590, and studied under Gio. Battista Crespi, and afterwards under Procaccini. Among the best works of this artist are, The Descent from the Cross, and his celebrated set of subjects from the life of St. Bruno, at the Certosa. He died in 1630. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
