Crespi, Giovanni Battista
Crespi, Giovanni Battista (called il Cerano), an Italian painter, was born at Cerano, near Novara, in 1557. He visited Rome and Venice, and subsequently settled at Milan, where he was patronized by the dukecardinal Federigo.
