Sinclair, John
Sinclair, John, a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in Loudon County, Va., April 9, 1793. In his twenty-first year, while residing in Lexington, Ky., he professed conversion and joined the Church. He was received on trial in the Kentucky Conference in September, 1824, but was transferred to the Illinois Conference in 1830. Here he labored as pastor amid presiding elder until 1844, when he was superannuated. This relation he sustained until 1846, when he again became effective, serving as presiding elder eight years and pastor two. He again took a superannuated relation in 1857, and made his home in Evanston until his death, in 1860 or 1861. He was delegate to the General Conference of 1844.
