Heath, Nicholas
Heath, Nicholas an English prelate, was born in London, and educated at Christ College, Cambridge. He became successively archdeacon of Stafford, bishop of Rochester (1540), of Worcester (1554), archbishop of York (1555), and chancellor of England under the reign of Mary. He was deprived of his offices because he refused to take the. oath of supremacy under Elizabeth, and died at Cobham in 1560. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
