Crane, James Burnet

Crane, James Burnet a Congregational minister, was born at Middletown, Connecticut, January 26, 1819. He studied law, and was for a time in business; in 1850 and 1851 he studied in the theological seminary at Princeton, N.J., and was ordained and installed colleague pastor over the First Congregational Church in Middletown, January 11, 1854. He resigned this charge April 15, 1856;

entered the United States army as hospital chaplain in April 1863, and remained until the close of the war. He died in Elizabeth, N.J., September 30, 1868. See Obituary Record of Yale College, 1869.
