Carloni, Giovanni Andrea (1)

a reputable Genoese painter, was born in 1590, and studied under Sorri and Passignani at Florence, where he became an able fresco-painter. He assisted his brother in the great fresco work in the Cathedral of the Guastato, at Genoa, and was invited to Rome to paint the ceiling of the Church of the Theatines, which he did not live to finish.
