Carey, John
Carey, John an Irish Methodist preacher, was born at Faughart, near Dundalk, in 1784. He was converted at fifteen, joined the Methodists, entered the ministry of the Irish Conference in 1809, and for forty-five years labored as a preacher of the Gospel with acceptance and success, when failing health led him to become a supernumerary in 1854. He continued to toil as he had strength, and died at Droghleda, March 2, 1874. See Minutes of the British Conference, 1874, p. 27.
