Balch, Hezekiah James

Balch, Hezekiah James a Presbyterian minister, was born at Deer Creek in 1746. He graduated at the College of New Jersey in 1766; was licensed by the Donegal Presbytery in 1767; and was ordained by the same Presbytery in 1770. He spent his life laboring in the Southern States. He died in the summer of 1775. He was a man of fine personal appearance and an accomplished scholar. See Sprague, Annals of the Amer. Pulpit, 3, 417.
