Alticherio (or Aldigieri), Da Zevio

Alticherio (Or Aldigieri), Da Zevio an Italian painter, lived in the 14th century. He seems to have been the first Veronese painter of any note. Vasari says he executed, with great skill, a single pictnre of the history of the Jewish War, according to the account of Flavius Josephus, on the four walls of the great hall of the Palazzo de' Scaligeri. He painted also at Padua in the old Church of San Giorgio.
