Winter, Veit Anton
Winter, Veit Anton a Roman Catholic theologian, was born May 22, 1754, at Hoheneggelkofen, near Landshut. He studied at Ingolstadt, and in 1778 received holy orders. For two years he continued his studies at Rome, and after his return was appointed pastor at Laichling, near Eggmihl. Some years he spent in travelling with the son of a count, whose tutor he was. After returning home, he was called to Ingolstadt as preacher and professor of Church history. In 1795 he commenced his lectures. When the University of Ingolstadt was removed to Landshut, in 1801, he went there, and died February 27, 1814.
