Wighard

Wighard an archbishop of Canterbury, was an Englishman by birth. He had been chaplain to Deusdedit, and had been educated in the Church of Canterbury. He was appointed to the see of Canterbury and metropolitan of all England some time between A.D. 664 and 668. He immediately went to Rome to be consecrated, where he died, soon after his arrival, of the plague. See Hook, Lives of the A rchbishops of Canterbury, 1:142.
