Whitford, Walter, D.D.
a Scotch prelate, was first minister at Monkland and sub-dean of Glasgow, then rector of Moffat. In 1634 he was consecrated bishop of Brechin, in which see he remained until deprived by the assembly in 1638, after which he fled to England, where he died in 1643.
