Welch, Ransom Bethune, D.D., LL.D.
a Presbyterian educator, was born at Greenville about 1825. He graduated from Union College in 1846, and from, Auburn Theological Seminary in 1852. In 1854-59 he was the pastorate. In 1866-76 he was professor of rhetoric, logic, and English literature in Union College, and since 1876 professor of theology in Auburn Theological Seminary. He died June 29, 1890.
