Velthem (or Veltheim), Valentin

Velthem (or Veltheim), Valentin a Protestant theologian of Germany, was born March 11, 1645, at Halle, in Saxony. He studied at Jena, where he was made professor of moral philosophy in 1672, and professor of theology in 1683. He died April 24, 1700. He was a voluminous writer, and a catalogue of his writings is given by Jocher, Allgemeines Gelehrten-Lexikon, s.v. See also Zeumer, Vitae Professorum Jenensium; Pipping, Memoriae Theologorum. (B.
