Vashni

Vash'ni (Heb. Vashni', וִשׁנַי, my strength, or strong; Sept. Σανί; Vulg. Vasseni), the first-born of Samuel according to 1Ch 6:28 [Hebrews 13]; but 1Sa 8:2 shows that the true reading should be ושֵׁנַי, "the second," and that the name of Joel; the eldest son, has dropped out. SEE SAMUEL.
