Van Ingen, John V., D.D.
a Protestant Episcopal clergyman, was rector of a church in Rochester, N.Y., until 1854, and of Christ Church, St. Paul, Minnesota, until 1862, when he became chaplain in the United States army; in 1864 he returned to Rochester as rector of Trinity Church. While in that city he was appointed chaplain of the Rochester institutions and missionary at Victor. In 1877 he became rector of St. John's, in Clyde. His death occurred December 1 following, at the age of seventy-one years. See Prot. Episc. Almanac, 1879, page 170.
