Van Gaasbeek, Laurentius

Van Gaasbeek, Laurentius a minister of the Reformed (Dutch) Church, was born in Holland. He graduated from the University of Leyden, May 15,1674; sailed from Amsterdam May 13, 1678, arriving in New York Aug. 21 of the same year. He reached Kingston Sept. 8, and preached his first sermon there one week later. He was pastor of the Church in Kingston from that time until February, 1680, the date of his death.
