Valesio, Francesco
Valesio, Francesco an Italian painter and engraver, flourished at Venice about 1612. Little is known of his paintings, but his most important work is a set of plates of hermits, engraved for a work entitled Illustrium Anchoretorum Elogia, by Jacobus Cavacus, which was published at Venice in 1612. His plates are sometimes marked Franciscus Valegius. See Spooner, Biog, Hist. of the Fine Arts, s.v.
