Underwood, Alvan
Underwood, Alvan a Congregational minister, was born at West Woodstock, Conn., Sept. 8,1777. He graduated at Brown University in 1798, studied theology with Rev. Dr. Sanger, and was ordained pastor in his native place in 1801, dismissed in 1833, and thereafter supplied for nearly ten years vacant churches, particularly those in Westford and South Killingly, and finally, for a year or more, his former charge in Woodstock, where he died, April 4, 1858.
