Thaumatopcei
Thaumatopcei (θαυματοποίοι), a term applied by the early Greek writers to those who pretended to work miracles by the power of magic, such as, James and Jambres, Simon Magus, and Apollonius Tyanaeus. See Bingham, Christ. Antiq. bk. 16:ch. v, § 7.
