Swaddle (חָתִל, to bandage, σπαργανόω; but טָפִח, in La 2:22, means to bear, upon the palm), to swathe an infant with cloths in order to keep its tender limbs from injury, a practice common in the East (Eze 16:4; Lu 2:7). SEE BIRTH.
