Sunderland, La Roy
Sunderland, La Roy a brilliant but erratic character, was born at Exeter, R.I., May 18, 1802. He became a Methodist preacher in 1823, and soon was known as a prominent orator on temperance, antislavery, and eventually on physiology and psychology. He died a professed infidel, May 15, 1885. He was the editor of various journals, and the author of several volumes on the above subjects.
