Strada, Famiano
Strada, Famiano, a learned Jesuit, was born in Rome in 1572, and entered the Society of Jesus in 1591. His ordinary residence was in the Roman College, where he taught rhetoric, and where he died in 1649. He was the author of Prolusiones Academicoe (Cologne, 1617, 8vo; reprinted at Oxford in 1631), by far his best work: — De Bello Belgico (Rome, 1640-47, 2 vols. fol.).
