Simmons, William S

Simmons, William S., a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in Bristol, R.I., Sept. 24, 1813, and was converted at the age of sixteen. Having received a good education, and having served as a supply for two years, he joined the New England Conference on trial, June, 1839. He was ordained deacon, June 13, 1841; and elder, June 11, 1843. His last appointment was Hopeville, Providence Conference, where he died, Jan. 4, 1867.
