Sib'boleth (Heb. Sibbo'leth, סַבֹּלֶת, for Shibboleth [q.v.]; the Sept. does not represent it, the Greek having no aspirate for σ; Vulg. Sibboleth), the Ephraimitish (text "Ephrathite") pronunciation of SHIBBOLETH (Jg 12:6).
