(Heb. Shiphtan', ]שַׁפטָ, judicial; Sept. Σαφτάν v.r. Σαβαθάν), father of Kemuel, which latter was the phylarch, of Ephraim and one of the commissioners appointed to divide Canaan among the tribes (Nu 34:24). B.C. ante 1618.
