Shim'ite (Heb. with the art. hesh-Shimi', הִשַּׁמעֵי, a patronymic from Shimnei; Sept. ὁ Σεμε‹; A. V. "the Shimeites"), a name (Nu 3:21; comp. Zec 12:13) of the descendants of Shimei 1, the son of Gershon.
