Scab
Scab (גָּרָב, garab, De 28:27; elsewhere "scurvy," a diseased scurf on the skin; מַספִחִת, mispachath, Le 13:6-8; a harmless cutaneous eruption; סִפִּחִת, sappachath, ver. 2; 14, 56, the mange in the hair causing it to fall out; kindred with these last two is שָׂפִח for סָפִח, saphach, to "smite with a scab," Isa 3:17, i.e. premature baldness; יִלֶּפֶת, yallepheth, Le 21:20; Le 22:22, an itching or tetter in the skin).
