Sautrantika
Sautrantika is the name of the second of the four great schools or systems of Buddhism, the three others being called Vaibhashika, Madhyamika, and Yogachara. They recognize the authority of the Sutras (q.v.), but reject that of the Abhidharma. See Köppen, Die Religion des Buddha (Berlin, 1857); Wassiljew, Der Buddhismus, seine Dogmen, Geschichte und Literatur (St. Petersburg, 1860).
