Satterlee, Alfred Brown

Satterlee, Alfred Brown, a Baptist missionary, was born at Sheldon, N.Y., Oct. 26, 1823, and was a graduate of Brown University, in the class of 1852. He pursued his theological studies at the Rochester Theological Seminary, and received his appointment as a missionary of the American Baptist Missionary Union in 1853, and was set apart for the Arracan mission. He reached the field of his labors, Akyab, in Sept., 1855. He was not permitted to perform much service for his Master. At the early age of thirty-two he died of the cholera, July 1, 1856.
