Sabai Version Of The Scriptures Sabai is spoken in several islands in Torres Strait, between Australia and Papua. The gospel of Mark was printed at Sydney in 1883 under the care of the Auxiliary of the British and Foreign Bible Society. The translation was made by a teacher, Elia, who had been fifteen years engaged on the work, and revised by the Reverend S. Macfarlane, of Murray Island. The gospel of Matthew has since then been added. (B.P.)
