Rutledge, Francis Huger, D.D.

a bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church, a native of South Carolina, and a son of chancellor Hugh Rutledge, graduated from Yale College in 1820, and was for some time rector of St. John's Parish, Tallahassee, Fla. He was consecrated bishop of Florida, October 15, 1851, in St. Paul's Church, Augusta, Georgia, and died at Tallahassee, November 6, 1866, aged sixty-eight years. See Amer. Quar. Church Rev.
