Rohtlieb, Johannes
Rohtlieb, Johannes a Lutheran theologian of Sweden, was born in Germany in 1806. Educated at German universities, he was in 1833 made assistant pastor of the German Church of St. Gertrude, at Stockholm, and in 1839, on the death of the pastor, succeeded to his office, by appointment of the king. In 1853 Rohtlieb became the agent of the British and Foreign Bible Society in Sweden, which he served until his death. In 1875 he retired from the pastoral charge of his congregation, and died April 11, 1881, a doctor of theology. (B.P.)
