Rigby, Alfred A
Rigby, Alfred A., a Methodist Episcopal minister, of whose early history nothing is known. He fought in the Union army during the Rebellion, and it was while in military service that he connected himself with the Church. He was licensed to preach soon after his return from the war, and in 1870 was received on trial in the Des Moines Conference and appointed to Wheeling Circuit. But overwork and over study brought on disease, and he died at New Vernon, July 9, 1872. See Minutes of Annual Conferences, 1872, p. 103.
