Rideout, Uriel

Rideout, Uriel, a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in Bowdoin, Me., July 26, 1816. He joined the Maine Conference in 1846, and labored until 1849, when he located for the purpose of attending the Concord Biblical Institute. He resumed his place in conference in 1850, and continued in active service until the session of 1868, when he received a supernumerary relation. After an illness of ten days, he died at Cape Elizabeth Ferry Aug. 30, 1868. His labors were characterized by zeal and discretion, by ability and ministerial fidelity.
