Reuterdahl, Henrik
Reuterdahl, Henrik a Swedish Protestant divine, was born in 1795 at Malmo, in Sweden. He studied at Lund, and in 1817 commenced lecturing as "privat docent" of theology. In 1824 he was made adjunct to the theological faculty, in 1826 prefect of the seminary, in 1827 member of the chapter, in 1838 librarian, and in 1844 professor of theology at Lund. In 1852 he was appointed state-councillor and head of the department for religious matters, which position he occupied till 1855, when he was made bishop of'Lund, and in 1856 archbishop of Upsala. He died in 1870. He wrote, On the Study of Theology (Lund, 1834): — Introduction to Theology (ibid. 1837): — History of the Swedish Church (ibid. 1838-63, 3 vols.). Besides, he also published since 1828 the Theologisk Quartalskrift, and continued the Apparatus ad Historiam Suedo-Gothicam, commenced by Celse.
