Prize
Prize (βραβεῖον, 1Co 9:24) signifies the honorary reward bestowed on victors in the public games of the Greeks, such as a wreath, chaplet, garland, etc., and is metaphorically used of the rewards of a future life: "I press," says the apostle, "towards the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Php 3:14).
