Powers, Grant
Powers, Grant a Congregational clergyman, was born at Hollis, N. H., May 31, 1784; was educated at Dartmouth College, class of 1810; studied theology; was minister at Haverhill in 1815-29, and at Goshen from Aug. 27,, 1829, to his death, April, 1841. He is the author of an Essay upon the Influence of the Imagination on the A Nervous System, contributing to False Hopes in Religion: — History of the Coos Country (1841, 12mo): — and Centennial Address at Hollis (1830, 8vo). — Drake, Dict. of Amer.
