Pitt, Christopher
Pitt, Christopher an English divine, noted especially as a poet, was born in 1699 at Blandford, Dorsetshire; was educated at Winchester and at New College, Oxford; and, after taking holy orders, obtained the family living at Pimperne, where he passed his life, beloved and respected for his suavity of manners and general benevolence.
