Perthes, Friedrich Matthias a Protestant theologian of Germany, son of Friedrich Christoph, was born at Hamburg, January 16, 1800. In 1842 he was pastor at Moorburg, near Hamburg, and died August 29, 1859. He is best known as the author of Des Bischofs Johnnes Chrysostomus Leben (Hamburg, 1853). See Zuchold, Bibl. Theol. 2:984.
