Pay, Stephen De a Scotch prelate, was prior of the abbey of St. Andrews, and in 1383 was elected bishop of the same. But he was taken prisoner by the English at sea, on his way to Rome, and died in March 1381. See Keith, Scottish Bishops, page 26.
