Ovington, John
Ovington, John an English ecclesiastical writer and traveler, was born in the 17th century. He was chaplain to king James II. In 1689 he sailed to the East Indies, and spent several years in Surat. He published in 1698 his Voyage to Surat in the years 16891693, etc., which was translated into French. See Allibone, Dict. of Brit. and Amer.
