Nilus of Rhodes

Nilus Of Rhodes, an Eastern prelate of note, flourished as metropolitan of Rhodeabout A.D. 1360, and was a native of Chios. He was the author of several works, of which the most important is a short history of the nine ecumenical councils, published by Justellus as an appendix to the Nomocanon of Photius (Paris, 1615, 4to), by Voelius and Justellus in Bibl. Juris Canonici (1661, fi;.), 2:1155, and by Hardouin, Concilia,' v. 1479. Nilus also wrote some grammatical works, of: which an account is given by Passow, De Nilo, groatmatico -adhuc 'ignoto ejus que. grancmatica aliisque fgrtunmmaticis scriptis (Vratislav. 1831-32, 4to).
