Nausiphanes

Nausiphanes a Greek philosopher, was attached to the teachings of Democritus, and, according to Sextus Empiricus, was a disciple of Pyrrho. He had a large number of pupils, and was particularly famous as a rhetorician. Epicurus was at one time one of his hearers, and as the latter could not deny this, although he was anxious to be considered a self-taught man, he was obliged to content himself by abusing him, and maintaining that he had learned nothing from him.
