Moore, James an early minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, was born in Tyrone County, Ireland, in 1760; joined the Methodists in 1786; migrated to America in 1792, and joined the Philadelphia Conference in 1794. For forty-eight years he was a faithful and useful minister, particularly gifted in exhortation. He died at Medford, N.J., May 11, 1842. See Minutes of Annual Conferences, 3:355.
