Mercier, Christopher
Mercier, Christopher, a French ascetic author, was born at Dole near the opening of the 17th century. He entered the Order of the Carmelites, and changed his worldly name to Albert de Saint-Jacques. He died in 1680. His most celebrated works are, Vie de la Miere Therese de Jeus, fondatrice des Carmelites de la Franche Course (Lyons, 1673, 4to); and La Lumiere aux vivants par l'expeaiences des morts (Lyons, 1675, 8vo).
