Mauermann, Franz Laur
Mauermann, Franz Laur a German Roman Catholic prelate, was born at Neuzelle in 1780; entered the priesthood in 1797, and, after filling various positions, was in 1825 made chaplain to the royal house of Saxony, and in 1827 praeses of the Roman Catholic Consistory of the kingdom. In 1842 he was made bishop of Rome and confessor of the king of Saxony. Later he became apostolic vicar. He died in October, 1845. — Regensburger Real-Encyklopädie, s.v.
