Mason, Cyrus, D.D.
a Presbyterian minister, was born at Nassau, N.Y., July 19, 1798. He graduated from Union College in 1824; spent two years in Princeton Theological Seminary; was ordained by the Presbytery of New York, December 7, 1826, pastor of Cedar Street Church, New York city; in 1835 became pastor of the Beneficent Congregational Church, Providence, R.I.; in 1836 professor of political economy and ethics in the University of New York, a position which he retained until 1850.
