Lenet, Philibert Bernard

Lenet, Philibert Bernard a French monk, was born at Dijon, August 24, 1677. Having been received among the canons regular of St. Genevieve, he soon distinguished himself by his piety and learning. For a time professor at Senlis and at Provins, he became director of the seminary at Rheims, and abbot of Grand-Val-des- Ecoliers, in the diocese of Langres. Being accused of Jansenism, Lenet was obliged to retire from his position, and died in 1748. He wrote some works, for which see Necrologie des Plus Celebres Defenseurs de la Verite, volume 3; Lichtenberger, Encyclop. des Sciences Religieuses, s.v. (B.P.)
